Babyfirefly,

Thank you for your interest in RTL, but as we have no need for a Paladin at this time, we are going decline your application.  Best of luck to you.

Hola all! Smiley

Just a bit of an update: I've transferred my hunter and my healer to another server. However, my Paladin tank, Eowhyn, will remain on Malfurion as will my multitude of alts yet to be fully leveled.

Please consider Eowhyn for membership in your guild, and thanks!

How old are you?
39

Are  you applying in conjunction with any other applicants?
n/a

What days and times do you typically play?
My work schedule is varied, and as such so are my gaming times.

What guilds have you been a member of and why did you choose to leave? Please include all information even if you are a server transfer.
I was a long-term member of Bloodline, but just recently a group of friends and I left to join Damonjager. Damonjager appeared to be a promising raiding guild, due to its 430+ members and their impressive experience, however I logged on just the other day to find that it had been unexpectedly disbanded over night, and no one is quite sure why.

What are your in-game goals?
My gaming goal is to experience every single bit of content that the game has to offer. I want to slay the Lich King just as much as I want to ensure I’ve been in every Vanilla and BC content instance and raid.

What activities do you enjoy most in WoW and why?
I’ve been told that I am a masochist because I enjoy leveling new toons, but my passion of course is raiding. I love to see the chemistry and the interaction between people during the intense fights that require skill, knowledge and coordination.

There are a bizillion guilds out there. Why have you chosen to apply specifically to Ride the Lightning?
Ride The Lightning has always maintained an honorable reputation on the Malfurion server, and I have always been interested in membership. I do have to admit however that I was initially a bit intimidated, however my game playing has truly evolved and I know that I would be a worthy addition in many different ways.

Do you know any of our members? If so, how do you know them?
I only know a few of them from various pugs, but no, I don’t know any of them well.

Tell us more about who you are in real life. After all, it's the person just as much as the character that is applying for membership in RtL.
I'm female and I have a full-time career and numerous hobbies that can keep me busy when I'm not immersed in playing WoW. I currently reside in Pittsburgh, so of course that makes me a die-hard Steelers fan. I am mature, sensible and intelligent, but at the same time I have a scandalous sense of humor and can be downright debaucherous. My man plays WoW as well, albeit on a different server.

Raiding Application

Do you have any raid experience in original WoW?  If so, what instances did you raid and what was the final boss you successfully killed in each? What role did you play in the raid?
I’ve completed all the Vanilla WoW raids, however sadly none of which were challenging as I was of a much higher lever at the time.

Do you have any raid experience in BC? If so, what instances did you raid and what was the final boss you successfully killed in each? What role did you play in the raid?
My first raiding experience technically came with Karazhan, and I was level-compatible for such at the time as the level cap was level 70. It remains to this day one of my favorite places, and I can proudly say that each boss was defeated. I also retain and still occasionally wear my favorite drop from Karazhan, the Wicked Witch’s Hat. My Karazhan raiding experience was mainly on my Holy Priest healer.

Do you have experience leading raids, being MT/MA, an officer, etc., which you feel make you a better candidate?
I have on several occasions formed and lead my own pug raids, however I have no formal experience doing such within an established guild. I am not opposed to such, and feel that I could successfully fill any role that was required of me.

Do you have any other characters that you have leveled? If so, which classes, what levels, and what knowledge has this given you that affects the way you play your main character in a group?
My main toon is a Hunter, but I have made it a point to level a tank, a healer, and a melee dps. The amazing understanding that comes with seeing a fight from ALL the different possible types of roles has been beyond eye opening, and has done wonders for my own technique and patience. My range dps, tank and healer are all level 80, and I’ve gotten the melee dps to level 72 thus far.

Do you have any other commitments that vary, such as a job schedule, that might prevent you from being able to raid at the scheduled times?
My job schedule is varied, but I would never sign up for a raid that I cannot attend.

Are you willing to respec your character, on occasion, per the Raid Leader's request?
Of course, and willingly.

What is your raiding preference? Would you like to raid 10 man instances, 25 man instances or would you like to do both?
I love the intimacy of a 10-man battle just as much as I enjoy the organized chaos of a 25-man.

How many nights a week are you willing to commit to raiding?
As many as I am able to.

As a raider what are your strengths?
My strengths are of course my skill, knowledge and experience but more importantly my ability to adapt and follow orders.

To contrast that, what are you weaknesses?
I have little patience with malcontent whiners, and I loathe when an individual is unfairly belittled or bashed due to a harmless mistake.

What do you consider adequate prep for a raid?
If I have already experienced the fight, I simply ensure that I have my reagents and potions, and take care of any potential real-world distractions beforehand. If I’ve never done a particular fight, I always do on-line research first which includes reading about said fight and viewing a video or two.

How do you think a guild should distribute loot?
If the raid is specifically being run to help gear newer level 80s, I like ‘Need before Greed’ but in all other cases I believe that those who have put the most amount of raid time in be given preference, but once they receive a new piece of gear then they go to the ‘bottom of the list’.

What are some of your favorite sites to seek out information about your character and spec?
Elitist Jerks and the WoW forums in general has good information, and I know I can always rely on the videos at TankSpot.

Do you have a computer and internet connection that are generally free from lag during raids?
My computer and internet are stable.
